Jakob Haas, cellist and permanent member of the Münchner Symphoniker, inspires not only in the concert hall, but also beyond with his versatile approach to classical music.
His many years of participation in various crossover formations and his work as a creator of image films and stage formats for symphony orchestras and classical ensembles underline his ability to build bridges between different musical genres.
In his role as a visionary artist, Jakob Haas sees the interface between art and technology as a promising basis for artistic innovation. Most recently, this has included exploring immersive technologies and artificial intelligence in order to develop new, creative musical concepts.
With „The Twin Paradox“, his LLM-co-composition for symphony orchestra, Jakob Haas is Google Arts & Culture Artist in Residence 2024. His VR project “Opernglas war gestern – MSY goes VR” was awarded the German Prize for Cultural Education “Kulturlichter” in the Audience Award category in 2024. In 2023, his project „The Tapestry Of Spaces“ combining AI composition, virtual reality and street art was nominated for the Innovation Award of Deutsche Orchesterstiftung. 
Since 2013, Jakob Haas has been touring Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA as a cultural ambassador with the hip-hop band „Einshoch6“.
Away from the stage, Jakob Haas has had a lasting influence on orchestral life as a long-standing member of the orchestra board of the Münchner Symphoniker and is actively involved in the development of a contemporary artistic working environment.
